What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is a personalized, evidence-informed practice that uses breath, movement, and mindfulness to address the root causes of suffering — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Especially effective for those impacted by cancer, chronic illness, pain, anxiety, and life transitions.
Yoga Therapy applies yoga-based practices, including physical postures, therapeutic breathwork, meditation, & more to address an individual’s needs—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Yoga therapy is not a yoga class.
It is a personalized, one-on-one therapeutic process that draws on the full range of yoga's tools — breath, movement, meditation, mindfulness, and philosophy — to address the root causes of physical, emotional, and mental suffering.
Where a yoga class offers a general experience for a group, yoga therapy is designed entirely around you — your history, your goals, your body, and your life.
Clinical expertise meets whole-person care
As a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy, I bring a clinically grounded, evidence-informed approach to this work. My training and over a decade of experience — including years working with seriously ill children and their families at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia — means I understand both the science and the soul of this practice.
Yoga therapy works alongside conventional medical treatment, not in place of it. It is integrative care at its most personal.
Yoga therapy may be right for you if you are:
Living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis Supporting a loved one through serious illness Managing chronic pain, fatigue, or physical limitations Navigating anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm Processing grief or significant life transition A healthcare provider seeking resiliency and burnout prevention Simply ready to feel more at home in your body
Yoga therapy is appropriate for all ages and all ability levels. You do not need any prior yoga experience. You do not need to be flexible. You only need to show up.
What a session looks like
Every client relationship begins with an in-depth intake conversation. We explore your health history, your current challenges, and what you most hope to gain from our work together. From there, I develop an individualized plan of care that we revisit and refine over time.
Sessions may include
Gentle movement and posture work adapted to your body Breathwork and pranayama practices Guided meditation and relaxation Mindfulness techniques for daily life iRest Yoga Nidra for deep rest and restoration Home practice recommendations you can actually use
No two plans look alike — because no two people are alike.
Areas of specialization
Integrative oncology — pediatric and adult Trauma-informed yoga therapy Chronic pain and illness Anxiety and stress-related conditions End of life and grief support Healthcare provider resiliency
This work is not about perfecting a pose.
It is about learning to listen to yourself again. To find moments of ease, even in difficulty. To access the inner resource that has been there all along.
I would be honored to support you on that path.
